Senior Party Committees and Chairs
Event
Co-chairs: Rochelle Spinarski and Ellie Mahmoodi
Co-chairs oversee all subcommittees, develop the party’s timeline, run meetings, and communicate with the school regarding the party. Works with committees and with school (hiring a cook, custodian, using walkie talkies etc.) Work with the Treasurer to stay within the budget.
Business Donations
Co-Chairs: Katie Hedges and Sara Nemo
Mail out letters to local businesses and follow up for donations of money or products for prizes and/or food donations. Works with Prizes and Raffles and Food committee members. Works with Fundraising Co-chairs.
Decorations
Chair: Amy Jones
Determine the party’s theme and design a decorating scheme to transform into a party scene. Coordinate volunteers to help prep decorations, decorate the Friday before graduation, and take down & store decorations after the party.
First Aid
Chair: TBD
Requires a degree in health care. Coordinate the health care professionals who volunteer to be on hand during the party.
Food
Co-chairs: Stacy Hanson and Katie LaMott
Contact local businesses to solicit food donations, coordinate pick-up from local businesses of food donations (beverages, pizza, tacos, subs, bagels, ice cream, etc.) on the night of the party. Purchase food & supplies as needed. Work with Donation committee: can use gift cards, receive as donations from Cub, HyVee for example to purchase food and/or raffle items.
Fundraising
Co-Chairs: Katie Hedges
Plan activities to raise additional funds that help pay for the party. Set-up Sign Up Genius account for fundraising help. Culvers, Chipotle, WayBack Burger, Board and Brush, Bagging at a local grocery store. Using Key Club Volunteers and other student organizations. Works with Donations Co-chairs.
Games/Entertainment
Chair: Dre Spalding; See Volleyball below; Corn Hole: Tracy Rudin & Erin Quinlen
Blackjack Chair: TBD
Coordinate with game vendors & volunteers to help set-up and run games such as, Pedal Carts, Speedway, Sports Challenge Defender Dome, Black Jack, Texas Hold’em, and Bingo. Manage the contracts for the evening’s entertainers.
Host/Bank
Co-chairs: Janelle Taylor, Amy Bjellos, Stacy Jacobson
Responsible for controlling access to the students’ bags that hold prizes and personal belongings while at the party. Count and distribute the play money and raffle tickets for the graduates to use during the party. Works with the Tickets committee with student check in at the beginning of the night.
Prizes/Raffle/T-shirts
Co-chairs: Natascha Mishcoff and Jodie Zimmerman
Organize prize donations & purchases additional prizes for raffle and grand prize items. Run prize drawings, on stage, during the party. Orders t-shirts for on-time-ticket purchases. Works with the Donations committee.
Program/Publicity
Chair: Amy Bjellos
Create the program distributed to seniors at graduation practice. The program coordinates with the decorating theme. Publicize the party in print and work with the web chair to promote through social media, create a sponsor thank you poster for the party, send thank you for publication in Woodbury Patch after the party.
Security
Co-chairs: TBD
Work with the volunteers that patrol grounds and monitor exits during the party. Work with the School Resource Officer (SRO).
Ticket Sales
Chair: Patty Freeman
Market and organize ticket sales throughout the school year. Promote ticket sales through print and work with the web chair to promote ticket sales online media. Pass out program at the graduation rehearsal. Help host bank chairs check-in seniors during arrival at the party. Online ticket sales are already set up.
Treasurer
Chair: Anne Miller
Develop and track the budget with party co-chairs. Track receipts, deposits checks and reimbursements and accounts.
Volleyball
Co-chairs: Tracy Emerson & Smita Myran
Set-up and run a volleyball tournament during the party. Teams up to 8 members will register before the night of the party. Teams will sign up during school and must be okayed by the principal. In 2019 the winning team, each member received a Savoy pizza coupon; 2021 winning team got a large beach towel!
Volunteer Coordinator
Chair: Jenny Erickson
Recruit & assign volunteers. Solicit and coordinate the approximately 160 people needed for the party. Set-up Sign Up Genius account for volunteers to sign up. Distribute water to volunteers during the party. Coordinate volunteer needs throughout the party.
Website – Social Media
Chair: Michelle Nikolai
Maintain the website, set-up online ticket sales, set-up and promote on social media and set-up photo sharing site for the photos taken at the party.
